Witness the city transform from its ancient Celtic origins at Kalemegdan, to medieval battles in Zemun, to the bold modernism of New Belgrade.
Buckle up for a whirlwind expedition that captures the essential spirit of Belgrade in a single, two-hour loop. We’ll traverse the "Great Divide" from the historic heights of Kalemegdan, across the bold concrete expanse of New Belgrade, and into the romantic, winding alleys of Zemun. This route offers a stunning visual contrast between the heavy symbols of socialist power and the delicate, medieval atmosphere of the Gardoš Tower.
We meet at Yugotour Headquarters (Karađorđeva 11) to introduce you to your driver and your vintage Zastava.

Built on a white ridge above the confluence of two mighty rivers, the Belgrade Fortress has been destroyed and rebuilt for 16 centuries. It remains the ultimate symbol of the capital. Nearby, the 15th-century Nebojša Tower stands as one of the few remaining medieval monuments, originally built to protect the entrance to the Danube port.

The construction of New Belgrade was the most symbolic modernizing act of the communist government. The Palace of Serbia (SIV) remains the largest and most spectacular example of modernist architecture in the district.

Until WWI, Zemun was a separate town—the final frontier of the Austro-Hungarian Empire bordering the Ottoman-held Belgrade. Today, Zemun is a neighborhood with a distinct spirit and preserved architecture. From the top of Gardoš Hill, you’ll get a stunning view of the Danube and the sprawl of New Belgrade.
